This is a crazy season for us (especially now with baby prep added into the mix!) but its always a very exciting time of year for Winifred Studios...and all small businesses! We roll out our new Calendar, at least one new Christmas card, and usually lots of new prints and other cards with new illustrations from our Calendar!
This is the time of year when we refresh our etsy shop and are super busy building up stock for all of our holiday shows! This morning I was busy packing up etsy orders of Calendars and Christmas cards. The last few nights I have been furiously sewing as many teatowels as I can before our shows this weekend. Tonight I will be packing up a few more calendars, cutting folding and packaging cards, and packs of gift tags that I queued up to print this morning. Its always a whirlwind of making this time of year!
Saturday (December 5), I will be in Dedham, MA at the annual Christmas Greens Sale and Holiday Market at St. Paul's church! I wish I could share with you how amazing it always smells in there because they have fresh wreaths for sale...but they are hung on every spare bit of wall. I swear it smells like Christmas!
Sunday (December 6), Brian and I will both be at the South Boston Holiday Market at the Innovation and Design Building in Boston with a bunch of other awesome local artists and makers!! We are so excited about this new show! I'm hopeful that we can squeeze in a little Christmas shopping while we are there. We hope you too will #shopsmall and #shoplocal this holiday season.
After this weekend we are done with shows for the year!!! YAY!! Shows are an awesome, busy, and exciting part of our business but its always nice to catch up on life a bit after the whirlwind passes. We'll start by decorating the poor neglected Christmas tree that has been up in our living room waiting for lights and ornaments since we trekked to the tree farm and cut it down last weekend!! Then it will feel awesome to catch up on cleaning the house and my studio (with all the making going on....just try to imagine a bomb of paper scraps, colored envelopes, bakers twine, teatowels and cards exploded and you probably have a pretty good idea of the state of my studio!). I'm excited to wrap up the last of our Christmas shopping and relax with Christmas music to make cookies, a few final handmade gifts, and generally enjoy our last Christmas season as a family of just two!!
We hope to see any of you local folks in Dedham or Boston this weekend...for all our non-local readers we'll still be doing regular Etsy shipments right up to Christmas! Happy shopping!
